Let's Talk Bernie Sanders

It's that time where America rounds up their most qualified [if that's what you call certain blonde haired Republican idiots] people compete to become our 45th President of the United States. Despite being heavily criticized, fought by a mostly Republican Congress, and racist comments from those who aren't his supporters, our current POTUS, President Barrack Obama, has made an impact beyond anyone's dreams. Our next president has to match his drive, his gracious and very family-man personality, his humor, and his aggressiveness--basically be President Obama times five. America has fallen in love and has given their trust to President Obama and his successor must take possesisson of that.

So Bernie Sanders...  Democratic candidate, 74 year old, politician, Senator of Vermont--Bernie Sanders. At first glance, Bernie seems like the average white politician American has constantly seen. What sparks my interest about Senator Sanders is that he knows America's issues and he has the most logical and fair solutions to America's most complicated issues. Let's take a look at a few of his political views:

1. He Believes The Gap Should Be Narrowed By Enforcing Stricter Regulations for Big Corporations
According to his website, if elected president, Senator Sanders will reduce income and wealth inequality by demanding that the wealthy and large corporations pay their fair share in taxes, increase federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, ,and create more jobs by hiring Americans to rebuild roads, bridges, railways, and other infrastructure needs.

Hmm...Not bad Bernie!

2. He Wants College Tuition Free and Debt Free
Senator Sanders proposes that the U.S. should make tuition free at public colleges and universities, stop the federal government from collecting on student loans, cut student loan interest rates, and allow students to use need-based financial aid and work study programs to make college debt free.

As a broke college student, Bernie Sanders is on to something great!

3. He Wants America to Love and Respect People of Color
As written on his website, Senator Sanders believes,
"We must pursue policies to transform this country into a nation that affirms the value of its people of color. That starts with addressing the five central types of violence waged against black, brown, and indigenous Americans: physical, political, legal, economic and environmental."

YAS BERNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. America Shouldn't Be Policeman of the World
On his website, Senator Sanders believes that a nation is as great and powerful by how they are able to resolve international conflicts without war. It proposes a new approach to Middle Eastern conflicts and moving America away from unilateral military action and preemptive war that ultimately makes "the United States the de facto policeman of the world."

These are only a few of the many issues that Senator Sanders speaks about and there are tons listed on his website. As a young democrat and young politician, I am learning more about myself, my views, and my political stance in America. There are numerous issues that I have thought about, that Senator Sanders has spoken about. I support Bernie Sanders, because he speaks the truth about real issues that Americans are facing daily. I believe he might bring the necessary change that America will need to "make America great again" [a phrase coined by bigot Donald Trump].
